Would you like to be a Mystery Reader?
It has been a Brainy Bunch tradition for several years to invite parents, grandparents, etc. to participate in our "Mystery Reader" program.
It is a special time for you to read to the class, share your love of reading and tell the students how reading is an important part of your everyday life. Mystery Readers read for ten minutes on Friday's at noon. If you do sign up PLEASE keep your identity TOP SECRET! Telling your second grader that you are going to be a mystery reader takes away the opportunity to learn logical reasoning skills - and ruins the fun for everyone! |

Ideas for choosing a book:
*A book that your 2nd grader loves.
*A book you loved as a child.
*Picture books, poetry, and nonfiction make great read-alouds.
*A carefully chosen excerpt from a chapter book can motivate them to read the book on their own.
The book or excerpt needs to be short enough to read aloud in 10 minutes.
*Ask our wonderful librarian, Ms. Moore (jennifer.moore@austinisd.org), for a suggestion.
